Kata Beach, partie Sud...
In Kata, you will find two beaches a few hundred meters apart. (See the map at the end of the article)
One Kata Beach, the most famous... and the other Kata Noi. "Noi" meaning "small" in Thai, so Kata Noi is the small beach of this very touristy place.
About 670 meters long, Kata Noi is straight and slightly set back which could almost make you think of a bay...
The slope is gentle, and children can play tirelessly without the slightest danger.

From the "View Point" located above Kata Noi, a very nice view on the three beaches that are located in the area

Seen like that, the beach is impressive and would even tend to frighten those who don't like crowds...

But you just have to step forward a little bit, head to the end at the south end... to find a quieter, nicer spot.
Quite a lot of vacationers on this beautiful beach of Kata in this beginning of January...
For the balloonists, amateur of surfing... you will find just in front of the beach
(in the south) this establishment proposing "training courses" of surfing.
Kata Beach, partie Nord
The southern part, more frequented by tourists, is close to Kata Village with its restaurants, shops, bars... the further north you go, the further away you will be from this very commercial area, although at the very end you will find a road going there also to very commercial areas...
You can even find beautiful mermaids on the beaches of Phuket...
