Sky Bar: The Head in the Clouds

Bangkok, as everyone knows, is a huge, noisy and polluted city... with neighbourhoods like Silom, for example, which is the business district.

It was there that I discovered the "State Tower" with its amazing dome that culminates at about 250m high, and which does not go unnoticed, even from a distance.

That morning, it was his nose taped to the window of the 43rd floor of the "Bayoke" hotel, I'm having breakfast, with an old French habit: a hot croissant dipped in my cup....

What a pleasure to start a new day by contemplating such an extensive panorama....
It feels like we're taking off...

In the evening, we will have a drink at the Sky Bar... which is right at the top of this magnificent tower...

The entrance hall is frankly not very big... very large, and almost abandoned, rather sad lighting, and not a cat...

It is a little doubtful, that I reach at the other end, the location of the elevators where we are greeted with a smile by charming hostesses...
...then it's up to the...64th floor!

Leaving the elevator, I reach the square, and I see a jazz band from behind.
It is as if this group was giving a recital in front of the immensity of the city, illuminated by all its lights.
For me, it's discovery, what do I say... surprise!
But the good surprise, with a strong emotion, because I didn't expect all this!
Good music, a panorama as far as the eye can see in the depth of the night...
A real treat, a great feeling!

Below, the Sky Bar, circular, made of Plexiglas and a soft light that changes its tone regularly.
The circular balustrade is also made entirely of translucent Plexiglas, and gives you the impression that nothing could hold you back.

From the bar, one can only be admiring the show, to the decor, to the architecture...

And this magnificent golden dome, which can be seen from so far away...

Such a large city shining brightly in the night....
a magical, magnificent, magical show...

Here, on the side, the restaurant part... card with very high prices...
But nothing like it for a romantic dinner!

It doesn't matter which side of the bar you're on: you will always have a magnificent 360° view.

To compare....

In order to give a more precise idea....
on the assembly above, you can see that the sky Bar is much higher than the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower!

Not cheap, all that...

The consumption menu is not expensive...... It's definitely very expensive!

So don't have fun taking the elevator to propose your round of drinks to your friends who are accompanying you... it can cost you a lot of money.

For example: a Whisky-Soda + a Coke normally cost about 160 baht in any bar in the city...

Now you're talking about 900 baht, that's six times more!

if only for a drink!

We're taking a look at it!

I find the Sky Bar (63rd floor) at the top of the State Tower, with its golden dome still as sparkling as ever
