Wat Phra That Choeng Chum
Sakon Nakhon is located in "Isan" in the northeast of the country, on the Phu Phan mountains. The place has many temples offering retreats for meditation.
These temples of Sakon Nakhon are particularly known to be the residence of Buddhist monks. It is a place of prayer and reflection.
The Lao style shedi in the centre of the monastery is some 24 metres high.
In March/April there is a stifling continental heat often exceeding 40°C.
All the more reason to visit this kind of temple in the morning before... these hot days.
