Samet Nangshe View-Point (Phang Nga)
Two different locations about 100 metres apart
To fully enjoy this show and take in the sights... two very different places are easily accessible.
First of all, Samet Nangshe View Point which is a very thai-style place, very simple: a small traditional thai restaurant, and a few small simple bungalows at very reasonable prices...
And then a hundred meters away, continuing on the same road, Samet Nangshe Boutique... a completely different place from another world: luxury bungalows, swimming pool, modern restaurant with panoramic view, and prices that have no relation with the first place. Two very different styles...
I will not hide you that my preference goes to the first named place...
This first place named Samet Nangshe View Point, is a little bit higher in altitude... but the view is anyway magnificent. This difference in height does not change much to the beauty of the place and your visual pleasure will be quite the same.
So today I'm going to show you these two places... which have only one thing in common: the panoramic view... on a part of the Phang Nga bay...
View Point on Phang Nga Bay
A wonderful panorama
This panoramic view with this well loaded sky... a 100% natural scenery
Eat and sleep on site....
You will find a small restaurant (excellent and cheap at all), as well as a number of small wooden bungalows, ideal to be on site in the early morning to watch the sunrise...
Information taken, a small bungalow costs 700 THB per night (price before Covid)
As you can see on the following pictures, the small road that leads to the viewpoint is steep, sandy and it is better to leave your car on the lower car park... besides you would not be allowed to go up with your own vehicle.
2 - Samet Nangshe Boutique
A restaurant ideally located...
A very modern restaurant offers a varied menu with traditional Thai dishes, but also European dishes (steak, pizza etc..)
During your meal you can enjoy the view and have a nice time.
The prices are different from Samet Nangshe Viewpoint, because we are in a very modern infrastructure, with important constructions, and a lot of staff.
Nothing in common with the first place, except the view
Here you go... for these two places: Samet Nangshe Viewpoint and Samet Nangshe Boutique...
This place is not far from Phuket, and very close to Koh Klang Pier (10 minutes away) : small pier offering longtail boat trips to Koh Panyee, Koh Tapu (James Bond Island) as well as cave tours...
For your information you can click here to see this nearby pier and our trip to Koh Panyee...
The route from Sarasin Bridge
About 4km after the Sarasin Bridge you can leave the main road '4' and take the country road '402'. From there, to Samet Nangshe, it's just a 22km drive (blue route on this map).
You can also opt to stay on road '4' towards Krabi and go back down a little further... the distance is about the same.
