The Khun Kon waterfall, Chiang Rai
A beautiful waterfall near the white temple
While we had just visited the famous white temple, we left for another destination not very far from the previous one, but a completely different world: nature in the middle of the forest!
The Khun Kon waterfall is located about fifteen kilometers from the white temple. A small road quite correct brings you there after a few minutes of driving and a few stops along the way, so of course you can take some pictures of the stream that runs along this road... a stream, a bamboo bridge, a dense vegetation, what a beautiful set to take beautiful pictures.
Then just go in the right direction, as indicated!
We arrive on the site where a parking space is available.
When leaving the car, a person tells us that the fall is at.... a kilometer.
So here we go with in mind, a few minutes of pleasant and easy walking in a beautiful tropical forest
As we move forward, we meet people coming back from the waterfall... we ask them if it's still far away....
and when they see our sweaty heads, showing a certain discouragement, they laugh...
It is after almost 50 minutes that we arrive on site. Honestly, I have to say it was a little hard... at the end.
We left like beginner tourists, we didn't have the right shoes (just flip-flops) or water to cool us down a little....
Some people find the courage to swim... yet the water is quite fresh (too fresh for me...)
Fatigue due to the distance covered as well as the prevailing humid heat did not cause the loss of concentration
to my daughter who likes to take more and more pictures....
After a few minutes spent contemplating the scenery and taking what it takes to take a picture....
we turn back... wow! another 50 minutes to walk the other way!!!!
Well, this is more like a downhill ride, it should be easier....
But this time it's us who are laughing as we meet people who go to the same place and ask the same questions
and who probably look the same as we did a few minutes ago when we told them they were only halfway there.
The roles are reversed....
