We left Chiang Khan and headed for Nong Khai (route 211) a good hour ago and never stopped driving along the Mekong.
After about 85km of peaceful driving, we find ourselves in a very large area... with very little water, you feel as if you could reach the other bank simply by walking... rocks and islets appear, giving this landscape an air of profound tranquillity. This area is marked on the map above.
